Mélanie Lapointe is a fine art portrait photographer and retoucher living and working in Montréal, Canada. Fascinated by visual arts, story telling and “mise en scène” from a young age, she enrolled at Dawson College to study cinema. After graduating in 2011, her strong interest for images lead her to continue her studies in photography at Cégep du Vieux Montréal where her interest grew into something more.

Mélanie’s main focus is to create fine art images in which the viewer losses all sense of reality. These dark and surreal images never cease to question the reality and authenticity of the digital image in our time. Her goal is to create something that speaks to others like a dramatic poem or a song with a thousand orchestras.
